PAN-AMERICAN HIGHWAY, PANAMA
When you’re trapped on a bus for eight hours, everybody is annoying. They might be tapping on the back of your seat, yelling into their cellphone, eating smelly food or doing any number of things that would never bother anybody otherwise. Hell, in all likelihood, you are annoying somebody.

But this lady went a little too far.

That hand was gripping the back of my seat, exactly like that, for eight hours straight. No matter how much I squirmed, poked, prodded and eventually told the woman in Spanish to move her hand, it remained firmly planted right where the back of my head should be. This was not a hair-raising, white-knuckle bus ride, she simply said she was more comfortable that way.

Maybe it was a Panama thing. Panama is not the most endearing country.
