Election night on U street

Tuesday was election night, in case you missed it, and after the networks called it for Obama the bar emptied into the street. People climbed trees and bus shelters, cars flew American flags in the drizzle and everybody, everywhere was dancing. I didn’t know this until later, but 14th and U happens to be on the very same corner that the 1968 riots started on. It couldn’t have been more poetic if we’d written it beforehand.

These pics are great. Now I realy wish I was there. As for being overseas, everyone is finally respecting Americans.

And at least Obama won’t get stuck in a bathtub. Now THAT is something to be remembered for…
